      Deputies discover human remains of woman missing since 2006

      CLINTON, SC (WACH) -- Deputies say human remains found in Clinton on Tuesday afternoon are those of a woman missing since 2006.

      According to FOX Carolina News deputies have confirmed the human remains are those of 22 year-old Samantha Smith.

      Fox Carolina reports that on November 5, 2006, Smith left her mobile home in downtown Clinton after her boyfriend said she had an argument.

      Smith has not been seen since.

      Deputies say the remains were found five miles from Smith's home, near the Clinton Public Safety firing range off Highway 308.

      Lauren's County deputies said the remains appeared to have been there for several years.
