Deputies: Infant missing after meth lab explosion

Meth lab explosion under investigation.

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- An infant is missing after a meth lab explosion Tuesday morning.

Richland County Deputies said it happened at 2828 Alpine Road at the Regency Mobile Home Park.

Deputies, Hazmat crews and The Columbia Fire Department cleared the scene around 1 p.m.

Investigators said that after the explosion someone drove William Tenuto to Palmetto Richland hospital because of his injuries.

A three month old was also in that car that drove Tenuto to the hospital, investigators are still searching for the child.

Deputies said they are driving a four door silver Pontiac.

Sergeant Curtis Wilson said Tenuto remains in the hospital and is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and unlawful distribution of methamphetamine waste.

Deputies said Tenuto was renting the home to the people inside the trailer and had knowledge of what was going on inside the home.

Right now deputies are searching for the three adults who have the 3 month old.
