SUMTER COUNTY (WACH) -- Sumter County Deputies say a principal dragged a teacher out of her office.
According to police reports, High Hills elementary school teacher Jessica Pena was having a discussion with Principal Maggie Wright over an increase in disagreements the two educators have been having.
Deputies say the discussion quickly turned into an argument and Principal Wright started screaming at Pena to get out and grabbed the teacher by her arm dragging her from the office.
A Sumter School District spokesperson says "The district is cooperating fully with law enforcement regarding the allegation. Both the principal and the teacher have filed complaints. After meeting with both parties, the situation did not warrant disciplinary action from the district; however, the superintendent felt it was in the best interest for the students, faculty and school for the two not to work in the same vicinity".
The district says Pena had requested a transfer prior to this incident, and the superintendent granted that transfer Friday instead of waiting until next school year.
