Deputies seize guns and drugs in Camden

CAMDEN, SC (WACH) - Friday, Kershaw County Sheriffâ??s Office narcotics investigators executed a search warrant on Campbell St. in Camden and seized 5 stolen guns, several of which were stolen, several ounces of marijuana, ecstacy pills, several hundred dollars, scales and other drug paraphernalia.
Deputies arrested Dee Dee Drakeford, 30, and Samuel Stewart, 21, both of Camden.
Based on the complaints of citizens and follow up investigation, Kershaw County Sheriffâ??s Office deputies got a search warrant for 1517 Campbell St. in Camden. While carrying out that search warrant, deputies seized firearms, drugs, scales, US currency and additional drug paraphernalia associated with the use and distribution of drugs. Deputies determined that two of the handguns were stolen from burglaries inside Kershaw County and were likely traded for drugs.
Stewart is being charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana (1st offense), Possession of Ecstacy and Possession of Stolen Firearms (2 counts). Drakeford is being charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana (2nd offense), Possession of Ecstacy and Possession of Stolen Firearms (2 counts). Stewart and Drakeford have previous arrests for narcotics violations. Other arrests may result, pending the results of additional checks on the firearms.
Both individuals are being detained in the Kershaw County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
