SUMTER COUNTY (WACH) -- Sumter County Sheriff Deputies say a traffic stop lead them to a car full of drugs and bomb making materials.
Deputies say while patrolling interstate 95 a Dodge Avenger nearly side swiped a deputy.
After giving Dean Smoronk a warning ticket, deputies asked if they could walk their K-9 around the car.
Smoronk said yes and during the walk around the car, a passenger was overheard asking Smoronk " are you sure you want them to do that ?"
Deputies say the K-9 found three locations on the car and a search was started.
Investigators say they found drugs, cash and bomb making materials.
Deputies say they found a plumbers putty container with gun powder and steel shot from open shotgun shells and immediately backed away.
Officers contacted the State Law Enforcement Division and the The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.
Deputies shut down a portion of I-95 between highway 378 and highway 527 and once agents arrived they discovered more bomb making materials.
ATF and SLED agents found a propane cylinder, jumper cables, clay, remotes and gun powder.
Smoronk faces several charges including trafficking Methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance and possession of bomb making material.
45 year-old Christina Cuozzo was arrested for possession of bomb making material, trafficking Methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance, possession of Marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
Deputies say the investigation is in it's early stages and expect Smoronk and Cuozzo to face additional charges.
