COLUMBIA (WACH/AP) -- Department of Motor Vehicle offices across South Carolina will be closed for an hour Wednesday morning for training.
The DMV is starting hour-long training courses on things like fraudulent document and credential recognition, proper procedures for transferring titles, vision screening and reviewing agency policies.
All field offices, telephone service centers and headquarters employees will participate.
The new training sessions will allow management more time to work with employees to ensure consistent operations throughout the agency.
Agency leaders say the training is vital to make sure all employees know the latest laws and technology to do their jobs.
DMV officials chose Wednesday mornings because they are typically some of the slowest times in DMV offices.
The DMV says while its offices and telephone centers will be closed, the agency's online website, www.scdmvonline.com will still be available for most transactions.
DMV offices should open Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
