MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a 2-year-old boy has been killed after he was mauled by dogs.
The boy's aunt, Octavia Johnson, said several family members thought Ja'Marr Tiller was asleep in his Mount Pleasant home when he was attacked around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Johnson says the boy's mother found him in the backyard with his clothes torn off after she finished running errands.
Johnson says the toddler likely slipped out the back door without anyone in the home hearing him.
Charleston County deputies say the two dogs in the yard, both female black Labrador and shepherd mixes, have been taken by animal control.
Animal bite specialists have been called to help determine which animals attacked the boy.
Investigators say five people were in the home when the boy was mauled.
