FOREST ACRES, SC (WACH)- A teacher at Dreher High School faces an additional charge involving an alleged sexual relationship with a student.
On Monday, Lieutenant Bryant Hinson said in a release the department served Kinsley Wentzky, 34, with an arrest warrant charging her with one count of sexual battery with a student age 17 without aggravated coercion or aggravated force.
The warrant states the Wentzky and the student have provided sworn written statements supporting the claims.
During a news conference Monday afternoon, Hinson said Richland School District One security came to police on Dec. 31. Police interviewed the victim and Wentzky on Jan. 1, which is when the sworn statements were given. Wentzky did not indicate why she did it in the interview.
According to Hinson, information was passed to the Columbia Police Department during their investigation.
Wentzky was issued a $10,000 personal recognizance bond Monday morning.
On Friday, Wentzky was charged with the same offense by Columbia Police involving a student at a home in Columbia.
Police say two students are involved, but there is only one incident in Forest Acres. Forest Acres police do not expect any new victims.
