COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The driver of an SUV is dead after an early Tuesday morning accident on I-26 Westbound.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban and traveling westbound on I-26 near mile marker 98.
Troopers say the driver drove off into the median and the SUV flipped over.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and killed after being ejected from the vehicle.
Troopers say seven other passengers were in the car including four children.
All the passengers however were wearing seatbelts and were taken to a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
