Elementary student taken to hospital to be checked after Lexington school bus accident
LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) – A Lexington County elementary school student was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons after a school bus crash Tuesday morning.
A Lexington County School District One bus was involved in the accident that happened around 6:30 a.m. while driving on Calks Ferry Rd. toward Two Notch Rd.
The bus driver and 22 elementary school students were on board when the accident took place at 1650 Calks Ferry Rd.
The student was taken to Lexington Medical Center.
A replacement bus picked up the other 21 students and took them to Gilbert primary and Gilbert Elementary where they are being checked by the schools’ nurses.
Both schools contacted the student’s parents by phone to let them know what happened and how their students are doing.
