Ex-Lexington County Sheriff convicted of domestic violence

BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- A former Lexington County sheriff's deputy has been convicted of criminal domestic violence.

Thirty-two-year-old Daniel M. Creamer of Lexington was sentenced to 30 days in jail or a $1,000 fine plus six months of counseling.

Prosecutors say Creamer attacked his girlfriend in February in their home.

The sheriff's department says Creamer was relieved of his duties after the charge was filed.
