Florence man killed in hunting accident

Florence man shot in the back while hunting in Greenwood

Authorities say a Florence man was killed while hunting deer. 40 year old Bradford Todd was shot in the back Friday evening in the Sumter National Forest in Abbeville County. A Department of Natural Resources spokesman says another hunter in a tree stand fired the shot, and immediatly called 911 and told authorities the bullet was fired from a .300-caliber hunting rifle.

The shooting is being investigated by the Natural Resources agency, with assistance from the Abbeville County Sheriff's Office and the State Law Enforcement Division, but so far has been ruled an accident.
