Tue, 28 Jan 2014 21:15:35 GMT — FOREST ACRES (WACH) -- Forest Acres police Chief Gene Sealy says January 20th's home invasion was targeted toward drug activity. Investigators have arrested two men who they say took part in the early morning robbery, that left one suspect dead. Sealy says officers arrested Ellison Hudson and Derrid Leaphart for attempted murder, kidnapping and attempted armed robbery. Forest Acres top cop says investigators are working to determine the identity of a third suspect. Richland County Corner Gary Watts says the fourth suspect in the robbery, 23-year old Deshawn Patterson died from complications from gun shot wounds. Sealy says the men knocked on the door and forced their way into the home. Once inside Sealy says the men fired warning shots and moved towards the back of the home. That's when investigators say one of the men in the home fired shots back striking and killing one of the suspects. This isn't the first high profile crime in the usually quiet Forest Acres. Earlier this month two men entered CVS brandishing handguns and robbed the store and employees in broad daylight. The two suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. The Forest Acres police are asking you to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC if you know anything about either crime.
