A former U.S. Commerce Department adviser and Cabinet officer under former Gov. Jim Hodges is seeking the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate seat held by Republican Tim Scott.
Rick Wade announced in a campaign statement late Friday that the people who represent South Carolina in Congress must be held accountable for their actions.
Wade lives in Columbia and was part of the Obama for America presidential campaign. His campaign says he founded The Wade Group, a global business development firm.
Democratic Richland County Councilwoman Joyce Dickerson has also announced her candidacy in the race to unseat Scott.
