Former USC football wide receiver and current Denver Broncos player Kenny McKinley is dead.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department confirmed Monday McKinley took his own life. Authorities found his body in the master bedroom of his home in a Denver suburb. The sheriff says detectives believe McKinley shot himself.

The 23-year-old McKinley was drafted by the Broncos in the 5th round on the 2009 NFL Draft.

He was put on injured reserve earlier this month and was in Columbia for the Georgia game last week. Denver Head Coach Josh McDaniel TMs says McKinley "had a promising future on the football field, but more importantly, he was a great teammate, whose smile and personality could light up a room."
