Former USC football wide receiver and current Denver Broncos player Kenny McKinley is dead.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department confirmed Monday McKinley took his own life. Authorities found his body in the master bedroom of his home in a Denver suburb. The sheriff says detectives believe McKinley shot himself.
The 23-year-old McKinley was drafted by the Broncos in the 5th round on the 2009 NFL Draft.
He was put on injured reserve earlier this month and was in Columbia for the Georgia game last week. Coach Steve Spurrier says Kenny McKinley was a wonderful person and he's stunned to hear the news after seeing McKinley at the Georgia game.
I saw him here " he came to the Georgia game, Spurrier said. He seemed in good spirits. Great smile like he always had. I don TMt understand it if it happened the way they say. It TMs hard to comprehend. Kenny was certainly one of my favorite all-time players. He was a wonderful guy. It TMs hard to figure out why this happened. It TMs a sad day.
