COLUMBIA (WACH) -- According to the spokesman for the U.S. Army's Training and Doctrine Command in Fort Eustis, Virginia, Brigadier General Bryan T. Roberts was relieved of his duties as Commanding General of Fort Jackson Thursday.
Official say it as due to misconduct. General Roberts was suspended on May 21 and the army conducted an investigation which led to the general being relieved of his duties.
â??This misconduct included adultery and a physical altercation. This misconduct was not sexual assault or harassment; it was a breach of order and discipline that violated standards of the Army Profession,â?? said spokesman Harvey Perritt.
Brigadier General Peggy C. Combs, Commandant of the Chemical School at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri will continue to serve as the interim commander until another general officer is assigned."
