Prosperity, SC (WACH) - The Freedom and Hope Foundation held an open house to honor veterans and fallen soldiers. The house, built off of local patriotism, houses wounded heroes and special children.
â??Itâ??s great to be able to come back here time and time again, to sit with soldiers,â?? said Jeffrey Boyles, one of many wounded soldiers who visit the foundation from time to time.
Boyles started coming to the Freedom and Hope Foundation in 2009 after returning from Afghanistan with injuries.
Not able to walk and in need to recover, the help of the foundation helped Boyles keep a positive mindset.
Terry Cotney, Executive Director of the Freedom and Hope Foundation, says it was with the good grace of the Lord who helped him see his vision through.
â??I stopped down the road 500 yards from here,â?? said Cotney, â??I prayed, dear God please give me a place so that our children and for our heroes can be first class.â??
The Freedom of Foundation has been giving back to soldiers for more than 5 years. With Cotney's big heart and faith in God, his vision turned into a reality giving wounded soldiers and children a second place to call home.
