COLUMBIA (WACH) - Today members of Gamecock nation rallied around one of their own.
The USC chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon held a fundraiser in the form of a baseball game for David Simone, who is one of their fraternity brothers.
David was diagnosed with lymphoma during his junior year in the Fall of 2013.
Since then, he has had to live at home in Virginia while he receives chemotherapy.
His fraternity brothers hope the money from the fundraiser can go to David's family to help with his medical bills.
And David could not be more grateful to his friends.
"Being in a fraternity, being in SAE, it really creates a brotherhood and even though I'm 400 miles away in Virginia Beach and probably not going to be able to come back to school here, they still - they don't care. I was a part of them, so they still decide to put it on for me and give it their best shot." says David.
Thankfully, David is currently in remission.
But he still has months of chemotherapy in front of him.
