Gas prices up in SC compared to last year during same time, according to GasBuddy

According to GasBuddy the average cost of gas in South Carolina has fallen 2.8 cents per gallon in the past week making the average cost of gas $2.32 on Sunday.

Compared to the national average, gas has fallen 3.5 cents per gallon making the national average $2.57.

Gas prices over the last five years have ranged widely:

  • 2017 - $2.02
  • 2016 - $1.53
  • 2015 - $1.99
  • 2014 - $3.06
  • 2013 - $3.35

And the following are different areas in South Carolina and their current gas price climate:

  • Spartanburg- $2.30/g, down 3.3 cents per gallon from last week's $2.34/g.
  • Augusta- $2.34/g, down 4.4 cents per gallon from last week's $2.39/g.
  • Columbia- $2.32/g, down 4.5 cents per gallon from last week's $2.36/g.
