GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- A 54-year-old Greenville man has been arrested and charged in a hit and run that killed a man and his stepson earlier this week.
Highway Patrol Lt. Shawn Stankus says Gordon K. Owens is charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving death. Troopers say Owens was arrested after getting a tip.
The patrol says the victims were killed as they rode a dirt bike near their Greenville home Sunday night.
Greenville County Deputy Coroner Barry Wright says 32-year-old Robert Blackstone and 12-year-old Timothy J. Rowland died of head and chest injuries.
The coroner's office says Blackstone died at the scene. Rowland died a short time later at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Neither victim was wearing a helmet.
Services are scheduled Thursday.
