Greenville woman facing DUI charge in worker death

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- A Greenville woman has been charged with felony DUI after authorities say her car struck and killed a state Department of Transportation employee who was working under an interstate bridge.

Greenville Police Sgt. Jason Rampey says 60-year-old Noah Lark was in the right lane of Laurens Road under an Interstate 85 bridge when he was struck at around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Lark died several hours later.

Rampey says the construction area was not marked off by cones.

Authorities say that 29-year-old Misty Dawn Dawson was driving the 1999 Ford that struck Lark. She has been charged with felony driving under the influence involving death.

Jail records showed no bond had been set for Dawson. It was not immediately clear if she had an attorney.
