RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) -- The Richland County Community Action Team took to the streets Friday evening. Deputies were in the Woodfield community showing neighbors a sketch of a man officials say killed two men.Related Stories Sketch released in search for murder suspect Two men shot and killed in Richland County
"The suspect and the victims knew each other," says Chris Cowan with the Richland County Sheriff's Department. "We believe the suspect opened fire, firing multiple times, against two victims and killed them both."
Family, friends and neighbors are shocked after hearing about the murders, but for Pamela Aguilar, a friend of a victim, she couldn't believe it when hearing the news through Facebook.
"It's a shock. People are always going to be talking about it, always going to be something to talk about," Aguilar says.
The past two weeks for her have been tough. She's shed many tears and even though her friend is gone, she says she can still hear his voice.
"The way he said my name, I could just hear his voice right now."
While officials knock on doors and stop cars hoping for any tip, Aguilar is talking to many in the Hispanic community hoping to help bring a killer to justice.
"Somebody somewhere knows something," she says. "If they would please come forward. If it was there child, they would want justice."
"Cases like this are solved when people come forward," Cowan adds. They're solved when someone from the community says, 'I know I've seen that tattoo. I recognize that vehicle.' It's that one bit of info that really solves the case."
If anyone knows who the man is or has information on his whereabouts, call 1-888-CRIME-SC, or text TIPSC plus your message to CRIMES (274637). Your tip could earn you a cash reward of up to $1000.
