Gun manufacturer hiring 30 workers in Horry County
Tue, 19 Nov 2013 13:52:08 GMT — MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- A Connecticut gun manufacturer that is opening a plant in Horry County will be hiring 30 workers in January. The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported ( http://bit.ly/185wgZV) that PTR Industries said Monday it will begin the hiring for the plant in Aynor. Morgan Dendy with the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corp. said the company will be hiring gunsmiths, assemblers and custodians. PTR has said it will have 145 employees in Horry County by the end of 2016. PTR Industries decided to move from Bristol, Conn., after that state passed stricter gun laws in April in response to the killings of 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
