COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Gov. Nikki Haley's senior adviser says she raised nearly $600,000 in the last quarter and has more than $2 million available for a second run.
Tim Pearson said Wednesday the campaign held 12 fundraisers and collected nearly 1,200 donations between Jan. 1 and March 31. Her seven out-of-state fundraisers were in Florida, Georgia, New York, Ohio, Texas and the District of Columbia.
Pearson expects to file her quarterly report with the state Election Commission later Wednesday.
The Republican governor has not officially announced she'll seek a second term in 2014, but it's widely expected. Pearson left her office as chief of staff last fall to head a possible campaign. He was Haley's campaign manager in 2010.
Haley's filing coincides with rival Sen. Vincent Sheheen announcing he'll run again in 2014.
