Haley to grade lawmakers' performance

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has upset legislators as she releases a draft of a report card she'll use to grade how they handle her agenda.

Haley told legislators in a letter Thursday that her report card delivers on promises she made in the campaign and since taking office.

The report card shows she is looking at specific legislative issues that include more roll call voting, state spending limits and reorganizing state government.

Democratic state Sen. Phil Leventis of Sumter said the report cards amount to continued campaigning.

Haley later Thursday planned to hold a town hall meeting in Lexington. It is the first of series during the next two weeks that include events in Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Rock Hill and Aiken.
