Columbia (WACH/NHC) -- As we say goodbye to August 2013, we will also mark the halfway point of the Atlantic Hurricane Season without a single hurricane.
While we have seen six named tropical storms, none of them reached hurricane status.
This is the first time since 2001 that we made it through the first 3 months of hurricane season without a hurricane.
While the quiet first half of the season has been nice, donâ??t let your guard down yet.
The climatological peak of hurricane season is September. More specifically, September 10th is the climatological peak when it comes to days.
Hurricane season last from June 1st through November 30th.
