COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Heathwood Hall's A'ja Wilson, the nation's top-ranked women's basketball prospect, announced that she intends to play college basketball at the University of South Carolina.
Wilson decided between Connecticut, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee live on ESPNU, during her announcement ceremony.
Wilson averaged 35 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks per game during her senior season. She ended her high school career with a win by leading Heathwood to the SCISA AAA state championship. The McDonald's All-American drilled a game-tying three-pointer to send the championship game into overtime.
Wilson was named the 2013-14 SCISA State Player of the Year, Gatorade State Player of the Year, Naismith National High School Player of the Year, Parade All-American National Player of the Year, and a McDonald's All-American.
Wilson scored 10 points and collected nine rebounds in last week's McDonald's All-American game in Chicago.
