      Highway Patrol hits a home run for Special Olympics

      The South Carolina Highway patrol will step up to the plate Tuesday night in a charity softball game against the Georgia State Patrol to benefit the Special Olympics.

      CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The South Carolina Highway patrol will step up to the plate Tuesday night in a charity softball game against the Georgia State Patrol to benefit the Special Olympics.

      It's all part of the of Law Enforcement Appreciation Night at Joe Riley Stadium that starts at 4:30 p.m. and runs until 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 and also gives admission to the Charleston Riverdogs game that starts after the charity event.

      Funds raised from Tuesday's night game will give Special Olympics athletes in South Carolina a chance to go to the Special Olympics Games.
