I-95 ambulance wreck near Walterboro puts 4 in hospital, including two Colleton paramedics
WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) — Four people are in a local hospital, including two Colleton County paramedics, following a wreck involving an ambulance Tuesday on Interstate 95 near Walterboro.
Colleton County Fire-Rescue officials say an ambulance responding to another wreck was hit in the back by a moving van shortly before 3 p.m. The wreck happened on I-95 southbound near the 51 mile-marker.
Fire-Rescue officials say the ambulance sustained heavy damage, and the moving van overturned. Two firefighter-paramedics in the ambulance, and two people in moving van were taken to Colleton Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
