C0LUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A home-building nonprofit organization is getting volunteers from South Carolina to pitch in and build a new home for a severely injured Army veteran.
The organization Homes for Our Troops is organizing the effort starting on Friday for former Staff Sgt. Ronell Bradley. He lost both legs and part of a hand in a 2005 bomb explosion in Iraq.
Bradley works at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, where the home is being started in a three-day building blitz.
The nonprofit group has built 90 homes for severely disabled veterans across the country since 2004 and has committed to building 100 more.
