Jury pool's exposure to media affecting Brett Parker murder trial
Tue, 07 May 2013 23:14:56 GMT — COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Almost a hundred potential jurors for the Brett Parker murder trial filled a court room Tuesday afternoon.
The potential juror no longer going by name, but a number, and waiting hours for Judge DeAndrea Benjamin to roll through a list of questions for them.
When Benjamin asked the question about media exposure, that seemed to slow the jury selection process the most.
"Have you seen, heard, or read anything related to this case that would include anything published in print and on the internet as well as things seen on TV and on the radio?" asked Benjamin.
More than half of the people in the jury pool stood up to say yes, they had been exposed to media coverage of the shooting.
