K-9 deputy used to find burglary suspect near Gaston

Shreiff James Metts says Dallas S. Gates, 21, is charged with second-degree burglary.

LEXINGTON COUNTY (WACH) - A Lexington County K-9 deputy was used to track a man accused of breaking into a home near Gaston Thursday.

Sheriff James Metts says Dallas S. Gates, 21, is charged with second-degree burglary.

Gates is accused of breaking into a home on Stagecoach Road and stealing clothing, $20, two video game consoles and other electronic devices around 12 p.m. Thursday.

Metts says the K-9 Unit deputy was used to track Gates to electrical power lines near the home that was broken into after a witness that saw someone exiting the home contacted law enforcement.

The sheriff does not say if the stolen items were recovered.
