Kershaw County deputies nab four in drug raid near Elgin

KERSHAW COUNTY,SC (WACH)-The Kershaw County Sheriffâ??s Office narcotics unit raided a home in the â??Dixonvilleâ?? area of Kershaw County. In this raid, officers arrested four subjects on narcotics violations, but also arrested two individuals for unlawful neglect of a child.

On Wednesday, KCSO drug agents executed a search warrant at in Elgin, SC. This area is near a school and has a reputation for illegal drug. As officers entered the residence, they could smell burning marijuana. Along with the adult subjects in the home were three juveniles ages 11, 6 and 5. Deputies seized small quantities of marijuana and crack cocaine as well as numerous plastic baggies containing cocaine residue, scales, cutting devices, marijuana grinders and smoking paraphernalia. All of these items were located within easy reach of the small children in the home.

Arrested at the scene were the following:

Antwan Simmons, 33,distribution of crack cocaine (3rd offense), possession of crack cocaine (3rd offense) simple possession of marijuana (2nd offense), child endangerment (3 counts)

Matakia Outten, 36,simple possession of marijuana, child endangerment (3 counts)

Ashley Dixon, 18,simple possession of marijuana

Ricky Belton, 49 possession of crack cocaine

Donald Young, 50, driving with no drivers license. Young was driving a vehicle that was leaving the premises as officers approached the residence.
