Lawmakers working to get head start on 2013 legislative session

House lawmakers are already proposing bills for the next legislative session.

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- South Carolina House lawmakers are getting a head start on the legislative session by pre-filing more than 100 bills.

The first of two deadlines was Tuesday afternoon. The next deadline is December 18.

One of the pre-filed bills is from Richland County Representative Todd Rutherford. Heâ??s proposing an amendment to the law detailing what kind of identification is needed at the polls. His proposal seeks to allow college and university ID cards as acceptable identification.

The 2013 legislative session begins January 8.
