COLUMBIA, SC (WACH)--Wednesday was a taste of South Carolina at the State House.
The ninth annual South Carolina Hospitality Day was held on the state house grounds. It was sponsored by the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association.
Dozens of restaurants from around the Palmetto State treated state lawmakers to steaks, crab cakes, shrimp and grits, along with several other treats.
Momo's Bistro Manager Marina Collier said it helps smaller restaurants like hers on Divine St. in Columbia; but it also creates a strong bond with legislators.
"There is a lot of bills being passed that affect our industry," Collier said. "I know they have got a couple bills they are working on at this moment. It is really good exposure for people to find out that you are here that they may not know about."
The event also had plenty of dessert and music. It was sponsored by the State's Restaurant and Lodgning Association.
