Lexington County residents encouraged to apply for flood recovery funding
Lexington County, S.C. (WACH)-- The County of Lexington Department of Community Development is encouraging residents within the county to apply for federal disaster funds if they still have unmet needs and home damage from the October 2015 flood.
To date, the county has received 78 applicants who desire to participate in the county's home buyout program and home rehabilitation programs.
The County received a $16.3 million federal appropriation to help residents impacted by the flood. If residents still have unmet needs they must apply to receive the funds.
Applicants are encouraged to begin the application process before the April 28 deadline.
Hearts and Hands Disaster Recovery staff will meet with residents wishing to apply and help them gather all pertinent information to successfully apply.
