LEXINGTON, SC (WACH) -- The Town of Lexington is in the early stages of planning the newest Lexington Vision Plan initiative, Project Icehouse.
The town purchased an area which used to be Shirey's on Main, the building next door, and Palmetto Propane and Ice Inc.
That area will be a destination retail center, including boutiques, restaurants, and an amphitheatre.
"It's kind of like apple pie, motherhood, and baseball. Main street USA, people want to come downtown and connect on main street," said Mayor Randy Halfacre.
Town officials will hold workshops Wednesday providing citizens and businesses an opportunity to voice their opinions about the project.
Those workshops wil be at 9 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m. at the Lexington Municipal Complex.
