Local hospital chefs compete in culinary competition

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WACH/AP) -- Chefs from 3 Midlands hospitals and their teams are among those scheduled to compete in a culinary competition.
The Cooking Well Invitational on Friday at Trident Technical College in Charleston is designed to emphasize ways to cook healthy and affordable meals.
Celebrity chef Robert Irvine of the television show "Restaurant Impossible" is the host for the event
Professional chefs will judge the dishes made on site.
The teams competing include Palmetto Health, Providence Hospital, Providence Hospital Northeast.
The others are Oconee Medical Center, Baptist Easley Hospital, Beaufort Memorial, Georgetown Hospital System, the Laurens County Health Care System, Piedmont Medical Center, and the Medical University of South Carolina.
