Local jewelry heist suspects captured in Maryland

COLUMBIA (WACH) â?? Columbia Police Chief William â??Skipâ?? Holbrook announces that two jewelry heist suspects have been captured in Baltimore, Maryland where they face similar charges.

Robert Antoine Weather, 53, and Robin Tracey Nelson, 50, were arrested after a tip led Baltimore County Police Officers to a hotel in Catonsville, Maryland.

The suspects face Grand Larceny and Criminal Conspiracy charges on outstanding Columbia Police Department arrest warrants.

CPD is coordinating with Baltimore County Police to arrange the pairâ??s extradition. A time frame has not been set yet.

Weathers, Nelson, and at least two unidentified suspects allegedly stole diamonds worth more than $100,000 from a local jewelry store in June.

Weathers and Nelson are also wanted in Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania for allegedly committing similar heists.

National law enforcement partners believe all of the suspects, including additional accomplishes, target independent jewelry stores and may have stolen between $350-500,000 worth of jewels and money.
