Columbia (WACH) -- While the last several days have felt like a typical August in South Carolina with hot temperatures and lots of humidity, a major change is heading this way.
A strong and unseasonable cold front is set to move into the Palmetto State and stall out.
Highs will drop well below normal and rain chances will increase across the southeast as this front hangs around for the next four to six days.
Low temperatures will drop into the 60s in the metro area with outlying areas expected to fall into the upper 50s.
Seasonal temperatures in the low 90s return just in time for the first week of school next Monday.
