COLUMBIA (WACH) â?? Acting Police Chief Melron Kelly announces the arrest of a man accused of sexually assaulting a female.
Nathan Martinez, 35, is accused of breaking into the victimâ??s home near Leesburg Road through an unlocked door at approximately 3:30 in the morning on March 25.
Once inside, Martinez allegedly tied up her hands and threatened to harm a family member.
The victim Columbia Police Department Investigators that Martinez forced her to leave the home with him and drive to a location off of Air Base Road where the sexual assault occurred.
Martinez was arrested early this morning by the Richland County Sheriffâ??s Departmentâ??s Fugitive Task Force.
Forest Acresâ?? Police Department has also charged Martinez in a similar investigation.
Nathan Martinez is charged with First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, Kidnapping, and First Degree Burglary.
Martinez is being housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
