ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- A man charged in the beating death of a Bowman man in 2005 has been arrested by Orangeburg County sheriff's deputies.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported 62-year-old Harris McCray Willis of St. George was arrested last week.
Willis is charged in the death of 64-year-old Wallace Summers.
Willis also is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill, first degree burglary and robbery.
Investigators say he forced his way into Summers home and began beating him with a baseball bat. Investigators say a woman also was beaten and seriously injured.
The victims were not found until two days later.
Sheriff's deputies say Willis had been arrested and later released on bond and failed to report for roll call.
He was picked up on a bench warrant.
