KERSHAW COUNTY (WACH) --- A Greenville man is behind bars after being accused of shooting someone who was trespassing on a piece of property he rented.

Kershaw County Sheriff's Office Investigators say 46 year old James Andrew Davis was arrested after shooting one of three people who were trespassing on hunting club property.

Authorities say the victim and two other individuals were driving a pickup truck on property leased by Davis for a hunt club.

It's located on Jordan Cemetery Road in Camden.

When Davis noticed the pickup truck on the property he started shooting in the air to scare them off.

As the vehicle was leaving, authorities say Davis fired more shots in the air and two rounds at the truck.

One of the bullets went through the vehicle hitting the victim.

Davis has been charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

He was released on $15,000 after a bond hearing on Sunday.

The victim was treated at Kershaw Health and released.
