In Orangeburg County, investigators need help solving a baffling murder case. A man covered in blood, was found dead in a parked car. Now investigators are trying to figure out what went wrong.
On Thursday morning a 911 call led Orangeburg County Deputies to a house on Drag Strip Road. They found a man dead inside a car. Authorities identified the man as 22-year-old Antonio Villa-Gomez, a native of Mexico. Deputies hope they're a step closer to bringing his murderer to justice.
"There is a person of interest at this time but we are not prepared to release that name," said Sheriff Spokeswoman Keisa Peterson.
Despite the new information a motive for the killing is unknown. Residents reported hearing gunshots about an hour before the victim was found. Now investigators are still trying to piece together the case.
"The autopsy has been completed but we have not gotten the full results at this time," said Peterson.
Investigators say the smallest bit of information could help them crack the case.
