Manhunt that began 13 years ago in Richland County ends in Texas

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WACH) - The 13 year search for a man accused of multiple crimes in Richland County, including shooting at two deputies, is over.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says Rudolph Darby, a man who has been on the run since December 11, 1999, was arrested Tuesday in Waco, Texas.
According to Lott, Darby is accused of burglarizing a home, pointing a shotgun at the the homeowner, leading deputies on a chase, and shooting at two deputies.
He fled the area, and the 13 year manhunt began.
The McLennan County Sheriff's office took Darby into custody Tuesday saying Darby assaulted an officer. Darby was trying to use the name Joe Stewart.
Lott says Darby will be held in Texas for an extradition hearing before being brought back to South Carolina.
