COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Two arrests were made after pictures of marijuana and disrespect of the Richland County Sheriff's Department surfaced on social media.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott stated that Margaret Rogers, 24, was charged with simple possession of marijuana 2nd offense and Jeremy Clayton, 30, was charged with distribution of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana on March 20.
Lott stated that he received copies of online posts from a concerned citizen, showing what appears to be a marijuana cigarette and someone disrespecting the Department. The Richland County Sheriffâ??s Department Drug Suppression Team conducted an investigation and determined that Clayton was the person in the pictures.
The Drug Suppression Team purchased marijuana from Clayton, on three separate occasions, and executed a search warrant there around 9:30PM on Thursday. Deputies found drugs inside Claytonâ??s home and both Clayton and Rogers were arrested.
