After a search and interviews, officials with the Jasper County Sheriff's Office report the two men spotted Jasper County are "more than likely not the subjects wanted out of Georgia."

A post on the agency's Facebook page noted the search was suspended at around 4 p.m.

Deputies in Jasper County and with several other law enforcement agencies began searching the area near mile marker 17 on I-95 Thursday after a truck driver called with a description of two men that "matches them to a T."

The missing inmates, Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose, are accused of killing two corrections officers Monday during an escape from a Georgia prison.

Jasper County Sheriff Chris Malphrus said a helicopter, dog teams from other agencies and officers from other agencies were called in to help with a search of the area.

When asked how his agency came to the decision to call off the search, Sheriff Malphrus said the truck driver was later shown photos of the escapees and was able to determine they were not the two men he saw.

The Ridgeland Police Department, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, South Carolina Department of Corrections, Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, Colleton County Sheriff's Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol, SLED, and the U.S. Marshals office assisted with the search.

We checked with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office with questions on the agency's involvement in the search, and we were told some of their K-9 officers were provided at the request of the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.
