Midlands man charged with molesting boys

A Lexington County substitute teacher is behind bars aftter being charged with sexaully abusing four boys.
Lexington County deputies arrested 32-year-old Eric Vancleave of West Columbia over the weekend. Vancleave is charged with 4 counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of committing lewd acts.
Lexington School District Two employs Vancleave as a substitute teacher. The district is aware of the charges against him and Vancleave has been suspended pending the investigation.
Major John Allard says Vancleave molested the victims over a 7 year period that ended in 2007. The arrest warrant accuses Vancleave of performing sex acts on a child under the age of 15 at the time of the incident. The alleged incidents occurred while Vancleave took the boys on a camping trip at the Barnyard RV Park in West Columbia.
Police believe Vancleave befriended his victims at Pavilion Ministries, an evangelical church on State Street in Cayce.
Three law enforcement agencies, including SLED, are conducting joint investigation into the matter.. Allard says there may be more victims.
