West Columbia, S.C. (WACH) - Airport High School students are lending their time and efforts to help Camp Kemo.
The school is hosting its 17th annual charity drive, with several events scheduled for the first week of March.
Camp Kemo is an annual, one week summer camp for children battling cancer. It cost $500 to send a child to the camp.
Last year, AHS students raised $32,500, enough for 65 kids to attend the camp. This year the students hope to raise $35,000.
Students are also collecting donations from businesses and residents.
The weeklong charity drive begins March 2nd, below is a list of events.
Friday 3/2 - Kick off carnival in the evening with Columbia area food trucks like 2 Fat 2 Fly.
Saturday 3/3 - Yard Sale, Pancake Breakfast, Beauty pageant.
Sunday 3/4 - Class sponsored Car Washes at various locations in the Cayce West Columbia area.
Monday 3/5 - Tuesday 3/6 - "Send a Goat" where people can pay to have a goat sent to a business or individual. The person receiving the goat has to pay to find out who sent it and has to pay to send it away.
Saturday 3/10 - Golf Tournament, Soccer Day Camp.
Sunday 3/11- Family 5k and Fun Walk.
