COLUMBIA, (WACH) -- A Midlands Technical College job training program offers scholarships to equip residents with in-demand skills to gain employment or move into better careers.
MTC has more than $1.7 Million in funding available for itâ??s QuickJobs program,making it the largest amount ever made available for scholarships for this program.
â??The Quickjobs programs could be a tremendous benefit to many of our unemployed and underemployed residents throughout the county,â?? said Richland County Councilman Paul Livingston, District 4.
Scholarships will be available for the QuickJobs programs in the categories of business, computer technology, construction and trades, healthcare, manufacturing, and creative careers.
The programs are designed to offer skills training that results in industry-recognized credentials and provide the critical training needed to move directly into employment.
To apply for a scholarship, residents must first attend an informational session. To register, visit www.midlandstech.edu/cce/scholarship.
Residents who do not have internet access at home are urged to visit their neighborhood Richland Library branch where public computers are available.
